Residential Solar Thermal Program
West Penn Power has contracted with Honeywell to administer this program. This site and its content are maintained by Honeywell.

Residential customers of West Penn Power can receive a $500 rebate for the installation of high-efficiency solar thermal water heating systems.
The Solar Thermal Rebate is one more way West Penn Power is working to help customers reduce their energy usage and increase their energy efficiency.
Switch to Solar and Watch the Savings Heat Up!
Compared to conventional electric water heaters, today’s solar water heating systems are extremely efficient. Solar thermal systems that qualify for the $500 rebate can reduce your annual water heating costs by up to 50 percent.*
In addition, qualified solar water heating systems are eligible for a federal tax credit and have a longer average service life than standard electric water heaters, so you save now and for years to come.
Qualify for the Rebate
The $500 rebate is available to customers of West Penn Power on qualified equipment purchased from January 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013.
Simply contact a local participating contractor — a trained professional who is familiar with the program details can:
- Assess your current system
- Explain energy-efficient solar technology
- Provide a detailed estimate
- Perform a quality installation
- Help to complete your rebate application
