Bathtub

Now is a great time to buy a new energy-efficient water heater, thanks to rebates from FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania utilities. Did you know a high-efficiency water heater can reduce your water heating costs by up to 50 percent?* To purchase a qualified model, call a trusted contractor or visit your local home improvement store. Be sure to check the manufacturer’s label or ask a store associate to verify that the energy factor (EF) meets program requirements and qualifies for a rebate. Learn where to find the EF information on the unit at retail stores in your area:

Heat Pump Water Heaters

Receive a $300 rebate for purchasing a qualified heat pump water heater with an EF of 2.0 or higher. A heat pump water heater can save the average household almost $300 per year compared to a standard electric water heater.*

Electric Water Heaters

Receive a $50 rebate for purchasing a qualified electric water heater with an energy factor of .95 or higher. High-efficiency electric water heaters use 10 to 50 percent less energy than standard electric models.*
