Pennsylvania residential customers of Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power and West Penn Power can receive a $500 rebate for the installation of high-efficiency solar thermal water heating systems.
The solar thermal water heater rebate is one more way FirstEnergy's Pennsylvania utilities are working to help customers reduce their energy usage and increase their energy efficiency.
Today’s solar water heating systems are extremely efficient. Solar thermal systems that qualify for the $500 rebate can reduce your annual water heating costs by up to 50 percent.*
In addition, certified solar water heating systems are eligible for a federal tax credit and have a longer average service life than standard electric water heaters, so you save now and for years to come.
The $500 rebate is available to residential customers of Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power and West Penn Power on qualified equipment purchased between June 1, 2013, and May 31, 2016. Rebates must be sent in within 180 days of purchase. Additional restrictions apply; please see the terms and conditions on rebate forms for more details.
