CFL Discounts

Through May 31, 2013, saving electricity is as easy as changing a light bulb.

Save Energy. Save Money.

Lighting accounts for up to 20 percent of your home’s energy bill. But compared with a standard incandescent bulb, an ENERGY STAR® qualified compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) can save up to $30 over its lifetime and pay for itself in about six months.*

The CFL Program from FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania electric utilities – Met-Ed, Penelec and Penn Power – provides for discounts on the purchase of ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs at participating stores in Pennsylvania.**

You’ll save $1.00 on each ENERGY STAR qualified light bulb you purchase — and you’ll be taking an important step toward reducing your energy usage.

It’s Easy!

There’s no paperwork to fill out and no rebate form to mail. Simply visit one of the select retail locations that are participating in the program, purchase selected CFLs displaying the ENERGY STAR logo and receive your discount on the spot!

The instant rebate is just one in a series of energy efficiency programs available to help customers of Met-Ed, Penelec and Penn Power take simple steps to reduce energy usage and costs.
