To complete your rebate application, you must submit an itemized sales receipt and proof of purchase documents that are mentioned as part of the product specific requirements. Documentation may be scanned and uploaded for the fastest processing of your rebate application OR you can send them by mail.

Scan Option

Attach your scanned sales receipt, along with proof of purchase documents that are mentioned as part of the product specific requirements.

  • Each scan should be limited to less than 2 MB in file size.
  • All scans will be converted to the jpeg file format at 300dpi. Scanning at a higher resolution is not necessary.
  • You may upload up to 10 attachments per rebate submitted.
  • All scanned images must be legible. Please review your scans prior to submitting to avoid a delay or a rejection of your rebate application.

Use the browse button to locate each scan file on your computer. When you have finished, press the "Submit Rebate Request" button. You will be given the opportunity to print a receipt of the rebate application submitted.

After reviewing the following guidelines, click on the "Submit Rebate Request" button below. You will be presented with a rebate application receipt, which must be printed and mailed along with an itemized sales receipt and proof of purchase documents that are mentioned as part of the product specific requirements.

  • Photo-copies of your original documents must be legible to be accepted. Please check your copies prior to mailing to avoid a delay or a rejection of your rebate application.

FirstEnergy Rebate Requirements

General Program Requirements

  • Applicant must be a Pennsylvania residential customer of Met-Ed, Penelec or Penn Power (FirstEnergy’s utilities).
  • Rebate applications are valid for qualified household products purchased beginning October 28, 2009 through May 31, 2013.
  • Rebate application must be entered by June 7, 2013.
  • Rebate application must be accompanied by proof of purchase including product specific requirements mentioned below. (legible copy of dated and itemized sales receipt)
  • Rebate application must include valid customer account number, product brand, purchase price, and store name.
  • Household products must be used at the service address on customer's account within the Pennsylvania service territories of Met-Ed, Penelec or Penn Power (FirstEnergy’s utilities).
  • Payment will be mailed to the account holder and address on record.
  • Rebates are subject to available program funds.
  • No warranties or endorsements of any manufacturer or product are provided.

Product Specific Requirements

Energy-Saving Surge Protectors

Energy Efficient Surge Protector Rebates
  • The energy-saving surge protector must have one primary outlet that controls a minimum of four secondary outlets with a sensor that tracks when an appliance is on, off or asleep.
  • USB interfacing surge protectors do not qualify for the rebate.
  • A photocopy or portion of the packaging illustrating the product brand and proof of primary outlet with a minimum of four secondary outlets is required to qualify for the rebate.

Torchiere Floor Lamps

Energy Saving CFL Discounts
  • Must be listed by the EPA as ENERGY STAR qualified.
  • A photocopy of the instruction manual (cover only) or portion of the packaging illustrating the product number and ENERGY STAR label is required to qualify for the rebate.

LED Holiday Light Sets

Discount Energy Saving LED Holiday Lights
  • Must be listed by the EPA as ENERGY STAR qualified.
  • A photocopy or portion of the packaging illustrating the product brand and proof of LED is required to qualify for the rebate.
